The first Sense the Place workshop took place at Triennale Bovisa, during the Furniture Fair 2010 in Milan, was undertaken under the direction of Luca Buttafava e Alessandro Confalonieri. The students participant were: Ludovica Guarnieri, Nicolò Previati, Matteo Sangalli, Simone Scalia, Elisa Tremoloda, Riccardo Zappaterra ed Erika Zorzi.

The second was completed in 2010 by the 2nd year students on the Graphic Design course in Colaiste Dhulaigh College in Dublin under the supervision of Marc Doyle.

The third workshop was done in Mexico City in 2014 during Abierto Mexicano de Diseno. The research took place in Tacubaya district with the direction of Luca Buttafava, Alessandro Confalonieri and the supervision of Hugo Gilberto Pérez, Marìa Bustamante Harfush and Gladys Buenavista Flores.
